Wild Creative: Grand Teton Recap

Last September, we hosted our very first creative meetup in Grand Teton National Park—and it was nothing short of incredible. From our Friday evening meet-and-greet to a full day of exploration on Saturday and a final afternoon together on Sunday, the experience flew by too fast. The overwhelming consensus? No one wanted it to end. In just one weekend, we forged lasting friendships, shared creative energy, and set the tone for what a Wild Creative event is all about—connection, inspiration, and the great outdoors. Below, you’ll find featured attendees, testimonials, videos, and images from that unforgettable first gathering. If you’re curious about what to expect, this page will give you a glimpse into the experience and, hopefully, inspire you to commit to one of our four Wild Creative meetups this year. Stay Wild, Stay Creative—we’ll see you out there!

A jack of all trades and master of at least a few, my goal is to inspire others that limitations only exist in terms of what they are willing to sacrifice, in pursuit of their purpose. I dream about entertaining and educating the public about ethical animal treatment, protecting wildlife against poaching, supporting financial resources for those employed in the conservation industry, and encouraging youth to develop empathy for others. After experiencing domestic abuse during my marriage with a member of Special Forces, I have become an advocate for women and children impacted by the mental health crisis in America, especially within the military. I am hoping to combine all of my interests and qualifications, in the artistic space, military lifestyle, animal science, and more to show others that human nature extends beyond a niche. You can find success and fulfillment, by embodying all facets of your genuine self, and your tribe will grow as a byproduct of your authenticity.

Upcoming projects: Releasing the poetry collection “Psychopaths Are Sexy” in February 2025, which details the grieving and healing journey of permanently escaping from the cycle of domestic abuse. Sharing modeling portfolio to magazines that focus on women’s empowerment, to gain traction in the adventure photography space and make it safer for women. Working on becoming a more skilled creator across platforms including TikTok, YouTube, and Spotify podcasting.

Testimonial: Jay/Alan had orchestrated an incredible meet-up with like-minded nature-lovers. As a beginner photographer and novice creator, I felt welcomed and supported by everyone in attendance. We shared our work, our passions, and many words of encouragement as everyone is on their own journey of artistic creation. It was a great opportunity to network with such capable, talented, and kind people.

Luke’s video recap of the trip:

My name is Luke! Nice to meet ya, I'm from Montana and have been a photographer for just over a decade. I love going out on my own to tell stories through photo and video and that drive has taken me to some pretty incredible places already.  I always feel like I'm a beginner but that's the fun with it!

When I went on the first teton summit trip in the fall of 2024, I didn't really know what to expect. I had made some backup plans in case I didn't fit in or the group was not the right fit for me. But I very quickly threw those plans out and made some really great new friends, and shot some of my favorite photos! For anyone thinking about going on one of these workshops, it's totally worth the time and we would be happy to have you join!

Current project is to create a large coffee table photo book highlighting all of San Diego

My favorite photo and most fond memory of the most recent trip was just after a magical sunrise in the Tetons at Schwabacher Landing a beautiful moose crossed the river right in front of us like something you’d see in a dream

Hi, I’m John, a San Diego-based photographer with over eight years of experience capturing some of life’s greatest scenic wonders. My passion for photography has no limit—whether it’s a majestic landscape, photographing the night sky, portraiture, or the thrill of aviation, I find beauty and excitement in it all.

Hi my name is Lilly!

From New Jersey, I am a traveling water color artist with the help of my converted camper van. Innately I’ve always had a curiosity for a different perspective. Whether that be listening to a strangers story, seeing new landscapes, or viewing life through a creative eye. Passionately I seek for kismet moments in my life that feel like magic, channeling them into my artwork.

Stumbling into Jay Kazen at a tiny gas station in the Tetons National Park was one of those serendipitous encounters. He so kindly introduced, The Wild Creative group that will always be a staple in my cross country adventure. I was wildly inspired by the other creators that surrounded me. In awe of the craggy Teton landscape and wildlife. Delighted to be capturing the sunrise at Oxbow Bend with my paints.

To meet with likeminded visionaries was the fuel I needed to flourish my artistic fire, much thanks to Jay and Alan!
